The Public Prosecutor has brought 31 charges against an attendant at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital under Section 6(c) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 131, at Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrates' Court for intentionally using overtime claims to deceive the Ministry of Health.

Investigations conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau revealed that Nur Illyani Binti Haji Abd Kahar had submitted 31 overtime claim documents between 18th February 2015 and 17th September 2019. As a result of the misrepresentations, the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance and Economy processed the claims and disbursed payments to the Defendant.  The Defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges. The court has adjourned the case to 15th May 2025 for trial dates to be set. Under Section 6(c) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, it is an offence to knowingly use a document containing a false statement with the intent to deceive one's principal. The offence is punishable by a fine and imprisonment of up to 7 years.
